There’s a lot of new features in Windows 2012 server but one of the easiest to deploy is the DHCP Failover. Basically you don’t need to do the old tricks with splitting a scope across two servers or installing DHCP as a clustered resource. Windows 2012 will do it all for you!
The DHCP Failover is pretty brainless to set up. All you have to do is: 1> Install DHCP on two servers 2> Authorize both servers 3> Create a scope on one 4> And then configure the failover option for the scope.
That’s it, really, it’s that easy.
……….There are a couple options of course but you can get this set up in under five minutes!
