Hospitals and Health Systems increasingly rely on business intelligence and Analytics to address :
New organizational models, including ACOs
New federal, state, and industry regulations
Pressures on revenues and the need to manage the revenue cycle
The need to improve operational efficiencies
Many hospitals employ their EHR vendor’s data warehouse for analytics. A best-of-breed architecture results when where one or more non-EHR systems, e.g., clinical operations system; is from another vendor. In this architecture, the EHR analytics, without significant customizations, will not be able to combine patient flow metrics with EHR encounters. Even if a hospital has invested in a vendor’s suite of clinical products, it is likely that non-clinical systems such as Supply Chain Management or Accounting/Financial will be from other vendors.
Anexinet’s solution to this this challenge is to combine our industry experience and BI expertise to design and implement an analytics layer that pulls data from multiple databases and warehouses. Our healthcare analytics methodology involves BI and ETL tool assessments, identification of relevant dimensions and facts, developing data staging requirements, and design of the analytics layer to enable cross-database analytics.
