Anexinet-Sponsored AberdeenGroup Report Reveals Benefits, Trends, Challenges of
Enterprise Portals
Collaborative visibility in process and workflow management is leading source of ROI from enterprise portals with ECM strategy crucial to success
Philadelphia, PA and Boston, MA - November 17, 2006 - According to a new AberdeenGroup research report sponsored by Anexinet Corporation, a leading solutions provider, 70% of industry average and 100% of best-in-class users of enterprise portals surveyed said that collaborative visibility in process and workflow management are their best source of ROI from portal initiatives.
The new report, "Achieving Collaboration Excellence: Content Management, Data Integration and the Enterprise Portal," also reveals that companies across every industry plan to increase their average budgets for new or expanded enterprise portal initiatives 35%-40% over the next 12 months.
"Companies in every industry told us there are great benefits to using an enterprise portal for intranet, internet and extranet applications across the organization," says Russ Klein, Research Director for Aberdeen Group's Enabling Technology practice. "The biggest challenge for these companies is managing the necessary data integration efforts that must be undertaken to expose critical business information to the users who need access to it. The report finds that a well-informed content management strategy is crucial to the success of any portal."
According to Anexinet President and CEO Diego Calderin, many organizations lack the necessary resources and coordination between the technical and business sides of their enterprise to overcome the critical data integration, presentation, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), and security challenges for successful portal deployments. "Anexinet has become an enabler to many organizations through our focused business practices in Strategy Management, Enterprise Portals, ECM, Ux (user experience) Designs, and data security," he said. "From concept to go-live, our portal solutions combine several technology disciplines with a cohesive strategic approach that integrates the interests of multiple stakeholders to deliver the successful business outcomes."
Key findings in the report reveal how companies are taking advantage of enterprise portals, how they are measuring the ROI of a portal initiative, and how they are leveraging their portals to meet the challenges of improved collaboration. The report also finds that companies are leveraging their existing portals to provide a platform for the deployment of many new enabling technologies, such as performance management and CRM applications, real-time analytics, and VoIP.
