Anexinet Unveils Technology Behind New
Highway Watch® Integrated Web-Based Infrastructure

Demonstrations at U.S. Maritime Security Expo reveal solution
to support expansion of national highway safety and security
program to 3,000,000 members

Philadelphia, PA - September 18, 2006 - Anexinet Corporation,
a leading regional solutions provider and exhibitor at the U.S. Maritime Security Expo in New York City on September 19-20, announced plans to demonstrate technology that is positioning Highway Watch® for a dramatic expansion in membership to more than 3,000,000 transportation professionals (truckers and school bus drivers) nationwide.

Highway Watch® is the national highway safety and security program that is administered by the American Trucking Associations (ATA) in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security. The program trains professionals to respond in the event they or their cargo are the target of a terrorist attack and to share valuable intelligence with Highway Watch® officials if they witness potential threats.

ATA sought to upgrade the Highway Watch® operational infrastructure by implementing a new, Web-based "Technology Hub of Operations" to better serve its mission. Anexinet is the prime contractor selected to implement the solution and manage partnering technology product teams.

The new infrastructure, which is 60% complete and is already in use across all 50 states, integrates and centralizes Highway Watch® systems for Enterprise Content Management, Association Management, Customer Relationship Management, Web-based Training, and Business Intelligence. Full implementation is on schedule for completion by early December of this year.

"Key functionality for expanding awareness and participation in Highway Watch® has been successfully deployed," said Janet Maurantonio, ATA Highway Watch® project manager. "We are already leveraging a more robust and unified National Call Center, and our Information Sharing and Analysis Center is much better equipped to handle higher numbers of incident reports and initiate appropriate responses to ensure the safety and security of America's highways."

In total, benefits of the integrated Web infrastructure to the Highway Watch® program include:

  • Mission-critical systems scalability to recruit, train and communicate with Highway Watch® members across all 50 states
  • Improved collaboration with partners and state trucking associations to attract more members into active Highway Watch® participation
  • Expanded member support, including personalized Web and email communications and Web, DVD/CD, and classroom training options to better serve the individual preferences of 3,000,000 or more members
  • More efficient back-office operations for invoice processing and reporting that will expedite Highway Watch® funding and reimbursements to offices of state coordinators
  • More effective incident analysis and faster dissemination of safety and security-related information to the appropriate resources, including first responders, law enforcement, and state and federal agencies

Attendees to the U.S. Maritime Security Expo can speak with a media representative at the Anexinet exhibit #937. Persons not attending or who want more information before and after the Expo are invited to phone or email the media contacts listed below.

About Highway Watch®
Under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Highway Watch® trains highway professionals to identify and report safety and security concerns on our nation's roads. The program trains professionals to respond in the event they or their cargo are the target of a terrorist attack and to share valuable intelligence with Highway Watch® officials if they witness potential threats. When a security call is made to the Highway Watch® hotline, a report of the incident is forwarded to the Highway Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) where a team of transportation security professionals assess and analyze the report. Incidents that may pose a threat to national security are then shared with government intelligence officials and other law enforcement agencies. For more information, visit www.highwaywatch.com.
